February Update on Flexible Work

The EVCP Organization is aligned with the recently announced UCSF workforce strategy.

Dear EVCP Colleagues,

Following Chancellor Sam Hawgood’s message announcing UCSF’s initiative to optimize our workforce strategy for mission excellence, I’m writing on behalf of the EVCP Organization (EVCPO) executive leadership to assure all of you that the Chancellor’s message is fully aligned with the process the EVCPO initiated last June.

Because of the work EVCPO units have done to review and document their workforce strategy, we are on track to implement our Flexible Work program by September 2025. EVCPO units have submitted their jobs rosters and workplans for leadership approval. Executive leaders are following up with unit leadership to ensure that proposed plans are aligned with the principles outlined in our town halls and prior communications. You will hear from your respective unit’s executive leadership once the workplans have been approved. In the meantime, if you have any questions regarding your unit’s Flexible Work plan, please reach out to your manager. You are also welcome to review the FAQ on our Flexible Work webpage.

I am thankful for your engagement throughout the planning for Flexible Work in EVCPO, and I share Chancellor Hawgood’s gratitude for your ongoing commitment to serving our faculty, students, trainees, staff, and communities. Our people-driven culture of interaction fuels UCSF’s mission excellence and informs the approaches we take to how work gets done in EVCPO. I look forward to the great work we will do together in 2025.

Sincerely,

Catherine R. Lucey, MD, MACP
Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost
